Time to... "Escape"

Good Evening Fellow Crafters (and to those who happened to stumble on my blog in a random google search).  ;)

A couple weeks ago, I needed a card for a teacher friend and didn't have any pre-made; so I was flipping through my Cricut Magazines for inspiration and found one.  I ended up using "Kate's ABC" cartridge; and what I thought was going to be a quick card, I realized this isn't going to be one.  LOL!

Here is the finished product...

Inspiration came from Cricut Magazine special edition "Cards" pg.15

Supplies: Cardstock-Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper- DCWV Travel; Stickles; Sharpie pen; Pearl Embellishment-Stampin' Up Pretties Kit, Letter Stickers-Unknown; White Gel Pen
I distress the "sky" paper.  Not too bad; if I say so myself.  ;)
That's all I have to share for now.  So until next time...

Dress Form Stand

I found this dress form stands at a local craft store; Wooten's Scrapbook Co.  I kept coming back to them and visioning what/how I would decorate them.  One of the sales girls made a few suggestions and I'm out the door with two of them!  :)  Overall, I'm proud of my finished project; since this was my first try at decorating one of these.

This is what I started with.
And... this is what I finished with.  :)
My plan of attack when I started, was to start with the skirt and work down the base/stand.
I found wonderful stack of paper by DCWV "The Lace and Linen Collection."
The flower on the base were from Prima and I used pink and silver Stickles in the center of flowers.
Now, I will ask for opinions on this: what are your thoughts of covering the base/stand with flower like I did?

I said it above and have to say it again; check out DCWV "The Lace and Linen Collection."  Beautiful papers!!  :)
I cut strips of paper for skirt by 8.5 X 1.5
Then I would tear the excess off.  I used modge podge gloss.  This was my first time using modge podge and after seeing the finished skirt now realized what gloss glue does.  ;)

Unfortunately, I forgot what cartridge I used to cut the hearts; however the size of hearts are 3/4".
I used chantilly lace and threaded pink grosgrain ribbon to make the scarf.

The large flower came from Prima Flowers.

Well...hope you enjoyed my first decorated dress form stand.  I have one more to do; but mulling around with a theme and to what theme.  Suggestions?  :)

Happy Birthday To My Bro!

Today, June 14th is my brother's b'day.  As I "try" to do for most b'days, I make my cards.  Here is the card I made for my brother.

The paper is Recollections (silver) and pattern paper and letter stickers are from DCWV "The Immortal Love Kit."

The crown is from Me & My Big Ideas sticker pack.

I used Stickles  on the pattern paper as well as on the crown to add a little bling.

The photo corner stickers and vellum is from DCWV "The Immortal Love Kit."

Silver paper is Recollections.  Made the envelope with Martha Stewart scoring board.  Used the Cricut cartridge Quarter Note and used my Gypsy to weld the letters together.

The crown was cut from Cricut Cart "Indie Art."  Note, I realized after putting the crown on that it should be on the top flap; can't see it when envelope is closed.  ;)

Wishing my bro a Happy "35th" Birthday...again.  ;)
